Man I wished I could offer something constructive.
But, you are pissing in the wind, period. period, period.
My son was taken off in handcuffs at 13 because a little over achiever, cheeleader, athelete, school board members niece accused him of having a gun in his back pack.
So I don't think ANY child should be treated different, but they should ALL be treated with respect.
While I understand coaches points about parents, I can also give you a laundry list going back to "goals 2000" from 1996 that show the puclic schools act many times as they only want parents involved when it does not infringe on the sub culture I call "public school tenure"
The problems in on both fronts. I can tell you that MANY teachers would be on thier asses in the public sector for poor performance.
What we have effectively done is employ to the least common denominator and educate to the least common denominator.
So we are roaring into mediocrity at break neck speed on both sides.
Excellent teachers and excellent students are both watered down and brow beat to oblivian while the under acheiving, excuse making folks on both sides are made to feel
"Special"
I am sorry, everyone does not get a trophy.
At the end of the day, kids should be taught the ONE way to be successful instead of the 10,000 excuses not to be successful.
and it's stupid wide painted rules like this this that perpetuate to our young kids that all adults are morons.
