Got a report from a friend that there was some big trout being caught in Matagorda. Two buddies and I decided to give it a shot. Ran down the south shoreline and found some pretty water and diving pelicans on glass minnows and it was on. No trout over 4lbs but we caught some huge drag burning reds up to 10lbs. Ended up catching around 40 redfish or so and a hand full of trout. All on topwaters in less than 2ft of water over sand bars with grass and potholes!! Sure was a nice change of scenery!!
