I never bought the warranty on anything and have had good luck.
But I buy only things made in North America. US, Canada or Mexico.
If none are available, I will look for something from Japan.
Cost more, but lasts longer.
I hate Chinese crap.
Mother in law bought a window unit a/c from Korea, cheap, crapped out.
Next 2 she bought were from China, didn't last. All plastic and no name
brand crap installed all over it.
I bought her a good one, made in the US. No rattles, no funny noises, no
issues at all. Just had to pay twice the money for it. But for what she
already spent on the other 2, she could have bought a good one.
