It will also allow the hooks to work farther away from the bait while walkin' it. Just gotta be careful that the center and rear hooks on a Spook don't touch. You can even remove that center hook without givin' up anything. Make sure that the splits are as good quality as the factory ones....stainless steel and heavy duty.

Yesterday I was using a spook that I just bought and the center and rear hooks often caught on each other and I had to unhook them before making the next cast.
