Remember......Location......Location.......Location......i s the most important thing to look for when chosing a spot to hunt.
After finding a spot...... there must be a good tree or thick bushes to provide a good hiding place so the Deer won't see you. I like to be 15' to 20' high while bow hunting.
Cutting Lanes........ I would only cut a few limbs to open up "spots" to take a shot. I don't like to cut "Lane". To Me....Lane are not "natural looking" and may spook the deer or the deer will be much more "on the alert" because to them...."something is not right". After cutting any limbs, I haul them away from this area. This is so that I don't leave any "signs or sent" to alert the deer that something has changed this area.
How much to cut...........
This depends on how thick the woods are in the spot you choose. I like to hunt a spot where I can see the deer a good ways before it come into bow range. This way I can be ready when it comes into range...... Usually under 25 yards. Don't cut any limbs that are close to the tree you will be hunting from [unless you really have to] .... this is your "camo" to help hide your presents.
