If only it was that easy. You need a certain amount of property, must have proof you have rights to alligator hunt it, before you can get a license. Also if said property is not in the area you have permission to hunt and you take an alligator you can get in some serious trouble.
You are supposed to report it to LDWF and they will send a nuisance trapper out to take care of the gator. Personally, I would contact the LDWF and let them know you have children playing in the yard and need it removed. My uncle had 3 in his pond, no children near him, and made the call to LDWF. The trapper was there the next day to remove them.
