They may leave a skeleton crew to continue producing until the last minute. Then they can round them up on the last flight. If the oil pipeline or gas pipeline co. shut their valves, then it's useless to leave the skeleton crew. If the platform has a diesel generator, put that one online to keep the freezers and refridgerators working.
The liability is high for these old platforms. My old platform toppled over in Rita. Waves also moved a skid with two 60" X 15' vertical scrubbers with 8" piping about 8" and this was around 70' above the water.
