Brought it back to dhp guy turned the knob and it worked. he said i guess it fixed it's self. I said i guess not. so we started taking it apart. the boy was very helpful once he figured i wasn't just going to leave.
anyway found out that it is a plastic piece on the 70lbs (which i have) that holds the brushes in place. any higher than that in trust it is copper that holds them. if you use your trolling motor on high as i do on big lake fairly often it melts the plastic and makes the brushes stick. when it cools down they weren't sticking. anyway fixed it and gave me a spair. he said they are suppose to be issuing a fix on it.......So this being said don't buy a 70lbs riptide.. go to the 80 or 101.....if you do have one don't lug it in mud or use it on high very long. the marsh is what got mine got stuck in the mud
