I have a Remington 700 that I bought used about 30 years ago. Great gun.
I also have an 1100 that is about the same age. It is not that good of a gun in my
opinion, it will jam now and then and the lil thingy that catches the shot shell to
eject it comes off now and then and it is too small to find.
I hunted a Winchester pump gun forever, then when I broke and couldn't be fixed,
I bought a Remington 870 Express when they first came out. Pretty reliable gun,
but I wasn't as comfortable with it as I was with the Winchester. Guess once you
shoot one gun for so long, it is hard to change.
But my 700 rifle is a great gun. Never had any issues with accidents like posted above.
