We bought a new 24hp long tail this year...might be a little harder to work but will get us out of just about anything in our marsh.
I was thinking on running a big old mud boat through the trails but that hard bottom will wreck havoc on the shaft/prop. Perhaps going a little above idle speed and digging deep would do the trick but would take forever.....even thought about a marsh buggy w/ back hoe...$1,800+ a day...ouch!
Yeah those hard bottoms are a beast on props and shafts...I coulda shaved my beard clean with my old prop....razer sharp and missing 1"1/4 of stainless

$1800 a day is steep...heck $3000 for a go-devil and ya good to go...and you don't have to worry abt silting....
