Before buying a yak you might want to think about the pros and cons versus a boat.

No monthy boat note, insurance, registration, launch fees etc
Won't be stopping by gas station each week to put $50 + in gas/oil
Not spending fishing time repairing trailer bearings, lights, tires etc
Not being able to work on motor lower unit oil, water pump, fuel filter etc.
Not spending hours fixing boat nav lights, aeroter/bilge pump, electronics
Reduced tackle inventory since you can only bring a couple rods
Not being able to wait in line at the boat launch in the morning
Having to fish in remote areas with no body in sight
Extra parking space in garage
Getting a work out and burning calories on each fishing trip
Only taking 15 minutes to load and prep for a outing.
Bay/Bass boat may collect dust in the garage

Don't rush into the yak thing
