I do just about the same as you, however I find very few reels truely saltwater resistant. Eventually the salt gets to them! During the doldrums of January I will totally disassemble all my reels, polish the spool pivots on a buffing machine (red rouge), clean in an ultrasonic, dry, use the proper lubricants and reassemble. I have 3 Lews that are over 19 years old that work almost like the day I bought them. (some wear and play in the handle bearing). Finish has some rust creep in the paint...but still very fishable!
