Until the river rises to over 16ft you'll have to pull over the dam. You gonna need a very lite boat to pull over along with a strong fishing buddy. Fishing at this time of the year can be off the charts for bass and sacs. Drift the stumps with crawfish crank baits. You can fish in there for 3 hours without a strike, then all of a sudden all hell will break loose.
I would take the river all the way around instead of taking the west route. Sandbars, trees and flats will block the way most times. The lillies can be a major problem when you go to pull over...bring a long handle rake to open path to the pullover....good luck!
