Better make it 17 foot a butte la rose with a bass boat....you will still drag the dam at 16. Good friend of mines parents had a camp on cow island. Before they sold it we use to go back there when the river was low and hammer the bass n sacalait with the lake to ourself. Just like every other part of the basin.....be prepared to fight the grass and lillys. Weedless baits like flukes and senkos are your best bet. The pipeline that runs north and south is a good place to fish.
