Default Check Point

I was there since yesterday helping prepare for opening day and slept out on the road. As of 4:30pm I had no fish and the folks at the check point said only 2 fish had be reported. The check point where the pavement ends going into Lacassine the one where the 10 state trooper cars created the check point to check insurance, registration, inspection and the one Wildlife office looking in your ice chest said they had seen two fish out of everyone leaving. I don't see how anyone could of fished out there and not seen another boat as there was at least 75 trucks and trailers from what I counted. I went all over that place in some places that you have to a gator tail to get to and still ran into people out there fishing. People where trying hard to fish that is for sure. I will find out the count from the counters at the boat launches that were in place when we pull them. I will be out there tomorrow working as I took today off to fish. Yes there are still fish out there as I saw them when they did the testing. Not in large numbers for sure. What I did notice is there gators were hungry and a little aggressive. I had two come close to my boat and check out by bait. I had one take my coworkers ribbit and break his line. I have never seen that happen in all the years I have been going out there. I saw one eat something but not sure what it grabbed. I did not seen very many turtles either. I saw more turtles 3 weeks ago when we checked water levels. Just my two cents and if your going tomorrow make sure everything you have is in check as they boys in blue will be back again to write more tickets.
