That's because of all the Native American and French influenced names used around here. Most of our rivers and bayou's are Native American names too. Atchafalaya river, Tchufuncte river, Lake Maurepas. Lot's of Indian names in Mississippi too!

Sacaulait = sack of milk or milk sack. Kinda like cafe' au lait = coffe milk.
