Depending on where I'm at, I agree with your decoy statement.
I hunt with a buddy, at his place if you don't have a huge spread, birds won't look at you. Or atleast not the big flocks, which is what the area mostly has.
In my pot hole marshes, I'll bring a dozen at most, but if I got em I'm going to get my decoys placed accordingly
