I have a $100 Honeywell that does basically the same thing except the 'learning' part. It's 7 day programmable and has wake, leave, return, sleep settings for each day if you choose. It adjusts the timing of your setting to start cooling or heating the house down so it will be at the temperature you set it at the time you set it. I don't touch the thermostat at all anymore, except when we are going to have a big party or to change from heat to cool.
