If you don't want neighbors, good luck. If I was moving to south la I would want neighbors, we know how to cook and help you out.

You also getting up in age and you need/want medical care close by, therefore you would want to be close to a city with car access, fishing camps don't offer that.

South of Houma is nice. A really nice area that is relatively high in elevation to the rest of the area is Bourg, LA. You can pick up property with house and batture for under $200,000. You could fish saltwater in Montegut and if you like the duck hunt there is also the Point Aux Chene Wildlife Refuge. You could also fish freshwater in Lake Long, the Company Canal and all of the canals off of it.

That would be my pick.
