Remember you need two straps minimum to haul anything on a trailer, a winch cable around the front of the trailer can get you a ticket if thats all you have. I would put at least 2 straps to be legal and secure.
I learned this while taking my CDL. The law states all loads under 10' must have a minimum of 2 straps, over 10' it has to have a strap at least every 10'.
