It seems notable that the first reports suggest human causes of death (gun shot or boat) when the zoologist actually suggested cold weather as the most likely cause.

Rumors of human causes feed the ecofreak agenda to limit human activities. Natural causes give the greenies little to complain about. They cannot even blame global warming on this one.

However, in the next global warming discussion you participate in you might mention that global warming will have the benefit of extending the protected manatee habitat further north.
