Pretty tough question to answer as I'm not sure what lures and techniques you will be using. I carry nothing lighter than medium for bass. My favorite all around rod is a 6'9" kistler medium heavy. Just depends on how I'm fishing though. That kistler is always in the boat. As far as reels its hard to beat shimano chronarch of curado, but have had good luck with some abu garcia's too. line used could be 12lb suffix mono on up to 40lb suffix braid for flipping.
