Default Texas Thunder Chickens Down

Took best buds, Andy Anderson and John Borel to my lease in Paint Rock, TX this weekend for some turkey hunting, drinking and relaxing. Saw nearly 100 birds all weekend while driving the ranch and still hunting some areas. We have right at 3300 acres and we literally saw turkey at every corner of the lease. I was very impressed with the numbers of turkey we have. Anyway, both my friends scored on their turkey mid morning Saturday. For John it was his first ever turkey! Cool weather meant a nice mesquite campfire and ribeye steaks cooked over the open coals and lots of stories told around it. Had a nice relaxing weekend and while we drove almost the entire lease we saw lots of game -- tons of deer, a bobcat, a coyote, roadrunners, coons, jackrabbits, cottontails, quail, mallards, blue wing teal, gadwalls, spoonbills, sandhill cranes and an owl nest w/ 4 baby owls and 3 unhatched eggs.

A very relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
