Ok, everybody thinks claims drive insurance costs but in most cases (personal lines) it doesn't. Claims affect auto insurance directly and home insurance indirectly. Homes are rated a million different ways; yr construction, yrs of updates, plumbing, elec,ac,roof, construction, slab, piers, ect. I doubt you are going to find anyone that will give you much of a break on insurance unless it has been 100% renovated. Was the ability to purchase insurance at a reasonable cost a consideration when you purchased 2 yrs ago? Friend in High School lived in a Histerical home and her dad put it on the Historical Register so he could get the tax break and he was a big Vet in town. Old homes are Money Pit$ and even those with the chedda have difficulty tossing out the kind of $$ for upkeep.

Good Luck
