Fact: GZ killed TM. I don't think that self defense will stand in this case. GZ pursued TM after police told him to stand down, Had he listened to police, this would not have happened. I think it will be difficult to claim self defense. My best guess is that GZ will be convicted of something less than 2nd degree murder.
