ME an a friend and another boat went with the armada of guide boats to the beach from Hebert's yesterday...
We fished just before holly beach.. Had one blow up on topwater.. I called a friend who was suppose to be wading near the Blue camp.. Had a friend in his boat near there.. Nothing..
We went all the way past the end of the jetties around Lil Fla I think???
Nothing!!! Water had a lot of grass and was a little milky..Saw some people were wading there; but I didn't see any one catching..
We ended back up in the channel north of pogy plt.. Ended with about 6 flounder and couple of trout..
Got in the water about 6am this morning.. Went to east side and fished for a while.. Nothing.. Caught about 55 liveys.. and off we went to the channel in Cameron..
Got to my hole first cast wham.. 2# trout.. Then nothing.. Spoke to my partner boat who was at the Pilot condo on the pt.. Nothing...
So I say lets try the Channel jetties. Go thru west cut and drop the TM..
ON about 5 th cast on plastic hang on rock.. Shake it loose... start to reel; thump..Up he Comes.. about 25-26" trout.. Shakes twice.. Then throws the hook.. Damn..
Continue to troll north.. Went around another guide boat.. I Cast, I catch a 2# on gulp..
Fished another 200- yds nothing.. Went back to pogy plt spot.. Caught a couple of flounder...
When all the way to Turner next near Crab lady's cut.. Fished a nice reef there.. Partner casts out and wham fish on!!!
After getting the net; up IT comes.. A BIG NASTY... 5# Gaftop..
Well after that we headed to the barn... We spoke to several friends of the camp owner I was staying at.. There were tons of trout caught under the lights when the tide came up after midnight..
