I guess it depends on your financial status after retiring. If I am at the point that I can afford to replace a house if needed, I would like to be close to New Orleans. Shoping for the wife and tons of stuff to do in the city. I was looking on realtor.com at some houses on Chef Menteur Highway (Hwy 90) SE of the city.
I would say one of those houses on Prien...but I don't want to live in Texas
