Yep, one side is owned by Gray, other side by Sweetlake Land and Oil. From what I understand, hunting is good at times, but not great. You can hunt the bayou, no problem, just don't run a boat. You will see wood ducks out there every once in a while.
I grew up fishing the bayou. Used to be great bass fishing, nothing big, but a lot of good size eating bass, bream, goggle eye, etc. Rita pushed a lot of salt water in there and messed it all up. Back in 2009 or 2010, me and my PawPaw were hooking up redfish in there. I even talked to one guy when I was working out there last year that said he was catching specks.
I think it has started to rebound though. I've talked to guys that have caught bluegill and bass out of there, which is a good sign. Another couple of years and it may be just as good as it was back in the 90s and early 2000s. No Lacassine mind you, but good fun fishing.
