I've had too many "Cabelas" branded items fail. I'm sure there are some deals to be had, but it's a dicey deal due to their uncertain quality control. I don't mind spending a bit of money on a reel that's going to hold $100 of power pro. I'm quickly becoming a Shimano enthusiast as I anticipate getting a decade or more of service from each Shimano reel I buy.

As you can tell, I don't mind savving money on my tow vehicle, my boat, etc. But I like quality equipment for what determines whether or not the fish that bites makes it into the box. We've lost too many fish over the years due to issues with rods, reels, lines, leaders, and terminal tackle. We lose very few fish now.
