Hunted the Laydowns this morning..
My good friend Phillip from Opelousas calls and says its 18 DEGREES.. I can't get on the Road..
Well so off to Klondike I went... Got to the blind and it was a toasty 23 degrees with almost no wind.. Put a old sleeping bag in the laydown to ward off the chill..
Got in the blind about 6:45 .. Didn't have to wait to long.. Group of blues comes over while my friend is parking 4 wheeler..
Drop one blue.. WE put out 2 speck decoys..
Covered up and then here comes specks and snows/blues in pairs, 3-4's..
Birds were wary with NO wind early.. When wind picked up; specks worked and we got 4 in short order, along with some snow/blues..
Ended up with 2 man limit of specks, and 8 snows/blues. Awesome way to close out speck season for me....

Going to make some goose sausage when I get back..
Off to the CCA state convention in New Orleans for the weekend..
