They have a launch at Avery island too. Google earth it and yak it up, beautiful area around Avery island and you can get long legged and go down to the ICW from there then into weeks bay
The point is a good place to launch too, the trout are pretty much gone til next fall, but you should be able to hooks one reds on the right days. Paddle down the canal from the launch, and you'll see rocks to the left, fish all that area. Past the rocks will be camps to fish, and the other way will be a beach then sharks bayou.
