Respect the commercial boats and know the rules of the road. It takes them a loooooong time to stop if you lose power while doing figure eights to decide where you're gonna go.
That captain doesn't want to kill you (his career and life is screwed), and none of us want to deal with thousands and thousands of barrels of oil in the water because of a captain having to avoid your little boat...
This is a hot topic at towing industry and coast guard meetings, you'd be surprised at how much a captain has to deal with when rec boats are in the mix... Respect the man and just know he is working while you are fishing.
