not trying to sound like a commercial or push a product but I think this is worth passing on as a good idea to look into
I bought some rustoleum restore deck coating to try out on the floor and deck of my aluminum boat

it doesn't say its for metal and the restore website said its not recommended for metal but its just really thick paint with sand mixed in it so I decided to try it anyways. it also comes in many colors that they will mix for you when you buy it which is nice since I got a color to match my boat. the key to this stuff is it needs a perfectly clean and rough surface to bond to so oil, dirt, grease, and chemicals will prevent bonding.
the results so far is I tried on bare sanded aluminum and after drying a few hours, I found it doesn't stick at all and peels right off if you scratch it with something. perhaps the metal wasn't clean enough, I don't know but I wont paint it on any bare metal again.
on aluminum that has been sanded, then a primer coat sprayed on, it stuck very well and wouldn't come off even after rubbing it hard with the sharp edge of a 2x4 and it did nothing to loosen the coating or knock off any texture. in fact it actually worked like sand paper and sanded the 2x4 lol.
so this is just a heads up to anyone looking for ideas for non-skid coatings that this might be something worth checking out.
as I found out you need to test it first to be sure you are doing it right to get a good bond so if you are putting it over fiberglass try a test spot to see if it sticks to bare fiberglass or if you need to primer coat it first.
if I needed to do a bedliner I would definitely be willing to try this stuff, at $25 a gallon its a lot thicker then those roll on bed liners.
I have no pictures because im doing paint and prep on the whole boat so it will be a while before im ready to go fishing but ignition testing looks good.
as always, free advice is worth what you pay for it so ....
