Peter Du Bose came down with his wife Evelyn and son Petie to tour LSU on Monday. They figured while down in LA they should check the fishing scene out. They picked a beautiful day. We left out at day break and started where I beat up the trout yesterday. We were fishing a reef with a Shrimp Creole Matrix under a cork. My crew didn't waste anytime as they were consistently catching. They had planned on all catch and release but after seeing the pretty specks they decided to keep 6 in hopes that their hotel in New Orleans would cook them up tonight for dinner. We moved around today a lot to give them the full experience. We hit the marsh for some reds but that didn't happen but they enjoys the scenery and alligators that were out in full force. After the tour we headed back to Mechant and continued our catch and release. Big and small trout, we took them at all sizes. No birds diving today which seemed odd with such calm conditions. The water is also cleaning up quickly after these strong blows so feel free not to wait the typical 3 days before you go out. Reefs produced the majority of fish but we did hit one point that had around 15 sitting on it. Taking tomorrow off to enjoy Easter with my little girls. Happy Easter everyone!
