hey fool, your getting good advice from some of the guys here, I built two before I got it right. use the 3/4 inch at least I wouldn't use anything smaller. Don't try to make a long side run that holds the camo, when it gets wet, and it will duck hunting, you will want it strong. I would go about every 2 feet with a support from the top to the floor. Also the cane (or painted pvc)on the bottom is very good idea, cause the wind blows a lot during season. also a cheap piece of brown or green material lining the inside will help as a wind break. I also used black wire ties once I got the material inplace and cut slits along the upright and horizontal poles and tied it in place. this helped hold it in place on the windy days. I hope this helps with your project. If I ever build another one I will use 1 inch all over. I know you are in south La but when the temp drops below freezing the pvc will get brittle. Any weight (someone leaning on a pole) and SNAP! SPLASH! not good during duck season.
