well its not just the pigs, there are a lot of little scrappers you don't want but those treble hooks will rip their gills out trying to unhook them.

I also look at it this way, them treble hooks can slow you down and cost you a lot of fish on a fast bite while your playing around trying to get all those hooks out only to re-snag as they come out.

when you are catching as fast as you can cast you definitely don't want to be throwing treble hook baits.

the way I see it, when a fish crashes the bait a single hook is all you need so there isn't much of a disadvantage in using one. its not like your going to be missing a ton of strikes because he didn't hit it just right to catch that single hook, when he grabs it he grabs it.
