Default Saturday Dive Trip

Well 4 of us headed out of rollover headed south. We got the mouth of rollover and it was nice green trout water..

Pointed Finchaser due south headed for the Verm Blks.... Got out about 3 miles.. Seas were building to 2-3' with winds out of the east. Damn.. Weather man missed it again..

Had to pull back a little.. With 4 divers, gear, 8 tanks.. Finchaser had a load..

Still was able to do about 21 knots with the side sea. But it was water capping bad as we got farther out..

Got to a good depth change and the waves were a farther apart..

Well made to 75' of water. Geared up and over my son (Cody) and I went..

Snapper were EVERYWHERE... We saw Snaps up to 20-22#..

Well mangroves were far and few between... They had some legal scamps. so I shot a few of them 17-20"..

Cody made a pass at the other end of the platform.. Starts tapping his dive knife on the speargun.. Off of the merc come about a 6' ling..

Cody could never get a shot on him..

We moved platforms several times.. We finally found one platform with some nice mangroves..

Speared a few.. Saw a few small sharks at the surface as we decented down..

I was coming to the boat after my safety stop. When I was at the ladder taking my fins off, I looked down and out of nowhere there is a 6' shark about 10' down and to the side of me.. He smelled dinner hanging from my stringer.

Ended the day with a few mangroves and scamp grouper.. I could not believe scamps were such shallow water.

Coming in; it slicked off to 1-2'. It was an awesome day. Can't wait to get back out and get back into the water.. I'm back in So. Tx at work.
