I put mine right on top of the battery with a 3" copper bar to connect it to the battery with a connector bar like this

I just took a 1/2" copper tubing and beat it flat then drilled holes in it. you just want a good solid bar that wont rust and can handle the amps so an 1/8" copper or aluminum bar is fine for this or tubing like I used.
