Lake Oua-ch-ita in AR near Hotsprings is a great spot and about 7-8hr drive (or less if you have a lead foot and a radar detector
). Crystal springs, near the center of the lake on the South shore, has a great marina, rental cabins, and a great little smokehouse near the main hwy with the best beefstick I have ever tasted. There are many other rental options but Crystal Springs in a very convenient location.
