Default Brutal Bulls

Brutal is an understatement of todays weather conditions. I was working a 3 boat trip for Capt. Travis Lovell for a big group of guys from the oilfield. We hit the gulf in a 3-4 ft. head sea. I'd love to say the 24 Blue Wave ate it up but that's just not the case. At least we didn't get wet! On location of the trout grounds we find pretty much what was expected in these conditions. Dirty water and gail force winds. But for some odd reason the trout bite was on. We hit a school that was biting every cast until the anchor broke loose. I tried to set back up but there was no hope. With waves crashing over the bow it was futile. With a few trout in the box and tired of fighting the weather, we switched gears to bull reds. Our first stop we hooked two and lost one. Between that were millions of gafftops. Got a call from Travis and Josh saying they were on em so off we went. When I pulled up to them every rod in the boat was doubled over. Good enough for me! Everyone took their turn fighting the bulls on light tackle and that was all she wrote. Big thanks to Capt. Travis Lovell for setting up the trip!
