Weekend was suppose to be me, my son and my father in law, but my father in law was feeling pretty sick so we didn't get off till noon on Friday. got to CP and got launched about 3p headed straight for a new place I had been eyeballing for a while, North West side of Moss lake in a few channels and things didn't start of to well
But quickly turned on with this falling tide
We stayed till dusk and ended up limiting out
I cleaned all the fish that night for I had HOPED we would hit some more the next day and needed the room.
Up and early the next morning
But it was tough, nothing was hitting!! I probably went to 7 different places and not much, I think we only had 2 fish by 11a. So I took some of your guys advice about fishing all day with my little buddy, and we took a break, we pulled out and went to lunch, went to Academy, goofed off until about 3. Figured we could try the same thing as the day before, same time same bait same place. So back to CP we went at 330p and the wind was howling!! on the N side of Moss lake, almost impossible to fish. So we headed across the channel to Haymark and got out of the wind. We found some channels, but getting to them was tough too, shallow shallow we got stuck twice!!, but once we found some cuts, out of the wind the fish was BACK ON!!
we ended up limiting again
All the fish were 21" to 27" we caught twice as many but I my preferred length is 20- 25
Took these home to clean, we had a 3 hr drive, we were off the water by 7
yeah I know theres 11, but one is a left over from the day before
cleaned all the fish, fried some, grilled some on the 1/2 shell on Sunday for fathers day
For Fathers day my son got me a Robocup holder (really wanted one) and my wonderful wife got me a Lowrance 3 for my Trolling motor up front for depth! man I scored!!
All in all ID have to say it was one of the best weekends I have ever had, at any time, but special I was able to share it with my son on fathers day
Actually it was an "EPIC" weekend!!
I try to keep it simple for my some so all fish were caught on fresh dead shrimp 18" under a popping cork.
thanks to my great son and my wonderful wife!!
