If you are in the left lane and someone passes you on your right, you will get a ticket for impeding the flow of traffic (up to $275). You'll see signs all over Texas that say either "Left lane for passing only" or "Slower traffic keep right". They mean the same thing. If you're doing 85mph and someone comes up behind you at 90mph and you aren't passing, you have to move over.
Besides that, some big Bubba like me in a big Bubba truck may run you off the road for blocking the left lane. It's our new state pastime, and I am one of the best.
If you drove in the left lane the whole time and were going under 85, you're lucky to be alive right now.
