This ^ is my family lineage as well maybe with the exception of southern part of France. We are still researching on where they came from before they arrived in Nova Scotia.
I unfortunately dont speak Cajun French because my grandparents were made to feel embarrassed and less of a person because they did so which resulted in them not wanting to teach their kids and grandkids our language. They were banned from speaking it in school and public in general. I have no problems with other immigrants speaking different languages and retaining their culture because Ill be damned that I will be part of making someone else feel like I do.
