A bad battery will read 12V or so when you measure the voltage but the voltage will decay when a load is applied such as the motor to your trim. The only way to tell is to measure the voltage while applying the load (operating the tilt/trim).

I did think about that, my battery is getting some age but it cranks my motor just fine. Although trim does take some amprage. Thanks I will try that today!
