Jug Fishing

What is the best way to jug fish with anchored lines? Im tired of fighting drift lines with the wind...any tips?

I just use a noodle with a mainline with a couple of loops from the mainline( I usually fish 2 hooks) and add a weight to the bottom of the line. Doesnt take a huge weight to hold the noodle in place,as long as the weight is on the bottom of course and provided you dont have a ripping current. I also use pvc pipes through my noodles with cotter keys to tie to.

I usually run them in the cuts off the intracoastal....alot of current.

Well back home we got some big tide laundry detergent bottles and sealed the cap. We fished 4 main depths where we fished, 30, 35, 40, 45 foot depths. For each depth we cut 2 extra foot of line, ended with 32, 37, etc...Here is what we did for anchoring it and I wish I still had pictures. We would get either a 5 or 7.5 lb plate weight from academy and JB weld a couple 2in nails that were bent at an angle to snag and hold the bottom. Never had a problem bringing them up. Caught some big blue cats on whole shad or sunfish. Used some heavy duty cord too.

You can make you own weights with cement. Just get you some plastic cups, I have some 32, 16 and 8 ounces cups with cement in them and they work great. I put a piece of solid brass wire folded like a V in the cement when I pour it in the cup so I can tie a string to it.

Forgot to say that the cement I use is the ready mix. One cheap bag goes a long way.

Thanks,I have heard of using plastic cups and cement. Gunna make a batch and give em a shot.
