Default Beach between Holly Beach and Johnson Bayou

What is going on over there? I came back from Johnson Bayou today and there are loads of 2X4's being put in like post.

Building new sand/wind fences to help with erosion.
Double row of them.
Post going up first, then the sand fences.

I thought maybe it was for erosion but wasn't sure.

Yep, saw that last month when they first started. The LSU fisheries agent told me it was wind fences to stop the sand from eroding. It also piles up the wind blown sand at the base of the fences.

we use to say that was the Democrats of Louisiana building a hurricane fence to protect us from the storms
