5/31/14 Halter's Island

Havent been out to Halter's island in a while, but the wife convinced me to take her redfishing in our old spots we used to go. Ive been so wrapped up going to Dularge lately searching for trout, she just wanted a day to relax and enjoy. So we headed down in the Bluewave and jumped on some reds quick. Ended up with 9 only because I miscounted the fish in the box. We continued to fish and throw them back. Caught them all on live crawfish.

Nice catch...what time were you guys out there? I ran past halters and went to oyster bayou like a dumb *** and did not catch but one red and throw back trout.

we left the launch around 9:30 and got back arount 4:00, ran to a few spots but caught 8 at out 1st stop. We caught a few more at each stop but mostly throw backs. We even went to the "washout" on the west side of Point au fer......but nothing but horseflies and sailcats.

If you were on the west side of halters I may have seen yall when i passed back through. Yea the horse flys were CRAZY BAD across the bay. We ended up stopping at Palmetto bayou and caught about 25-30 cats before heading in. Think we got back to the landing around 3:00PM
