Default Cocodrie Trip

We put in a bit late at 4 Bayou, yesterday morning. First stop resulted in some nice Gaffers, then on down to Last Island, we were met with Dolphins everywhere. Decided to troll the bank, and seen a bucket I just had to have so I sent the boy up to get it, and found a rat red, started working the area well, and found some finicky trout. At first poppin cork and swim bait did the trick, then tied on some top water that got our attention, that fizzled then to twitch bait, that was on, missed a bunch, but learned a lot them trout were not hungry, best I could figure it was a reaction strike.
It was a good learning trip, tried some new things, first time taking my boat down there, glad I did my confidence is building towards me becoming a better fish man!
Great father - son trip!!!
