Buy a hook n line map and it will show you some spots, launch out of calcasieu point, fish turners and the weirs right now. If you are opposed to using live bait, doas under a cork on reefs, sand eels/jerk jrs/browns devil eyes on reefs, gulp swimming mullets at weirs. Search the fishing reports and discussions there is already alot of great info on this site

Thanks. I just ordered the map. Does the map show where the reefs are and where to pass? I.E. Does it show depths? I'd hate hit a reef. When looking on google it looks as though there are many places to fish but where are the wiers? My 10 year could be extremely happy just throwing a cast net all day and my 9 nine year would go through what he catches. Catching fish from the wier would be great too?

Only thing you need to look for is old jetties south west end of lake... Long rock eddie and not all are visible...
Weirs are on East bank and Grand is the one you can go through and cast net Don't brun banks or shallow water and you should be fine...stay out of west cove on low tides..... |
