Default directions?

Headed to Opelousas tomorrow afternoon with the wife. Never been there before. When I Googled the trip it looks like Airline Hwy is the way to go from Red Stick. Is this true, or, is there a better way? The one thing I remember about the one time on Airline is a traffic light every 88'. How far is it like that?

Also, if anyone has a good eatery....I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Take 12 to 10, cross Miss river bridge. Second exit (Lobdell), north about 5 miles to 190 west.

Be careful on 190,the speed limit is constantly changing and watch out for all of those little towns along there, they are always radaring.

Correct, never get on Airline.

Big-C is right, when you cross the Atchafalaya bridge, do NOT speed in Krotz Spings

I got it. Do I continue on the I'state until I cross the Miss. River? Maybe I'm not following, but, I thought I exited long before that? Sorry for the ignorance.

I always cross on interstate 10. Lobdell exit is about 3-4 milws after bridge.

What kind of food are you looking for? I work at the hospital and have eaten everywhere in Opelousas

Salty, traffic is decent going that way (west bound) till about 4:30pm then it gets STOOOPID! Anything before you'll be fine.
You can go across the New Bridge on Interstate & get off at Lobdell exit & go north to Hwy 190 or stay straight onto I110 & go across Old Bridge which is Hwy 190.

If you got heat you might want to pack it.. Opelousas doesn't have the most "friendly"crowd... Someone didn't make this for nothing!!
